Doors, Doors, Doors
The front doors of residences in Tunisia are large, double, decorated and mostly blue. The artistry is created with nails that look like hammered upholstery tacks, both large and small, and some other adornments that can be seen in the accompanying photos. Door handles are usually heavy rings, which probably also serve as door knockers. Blue is a common trim color on homes in Tunisia as it symbolizes the blue of the Mediterranean Sea.
